Big 4 rigor.
Mexican ground truth.
I help SMEs, international investors, and Nordic companies navigate financial and business decisions in Mexico — with nearly two decades of running operations here, not just advising on them.
Four ways I can help your business
Every engagement is tailored — no fixed packages. Whether you need a few hours of senior advisory each month or a dedicated partner for one transaction, we start with a conversation.
Who it’s for
SMEs in construction, mining, retail, and commercial B2B. Also foreign-owned companies in Mexico that need a bilingual financial interface between local operations and international shareholders.
How it works
Usually a monthly retainer — a set number of hours at a flat fee. Scope agreed upfront, reviewed quarterly. Remote-first, with meetings in Mexico City when useful.
What I deliver
- Strategic financial planning and budgeting
- Cash flow management and forecasting
- Risk identification and internal controls design
- SAT compliance and Mexican tax coordination
- Reporting for owners, boards, and investors
- KPI development and management dashboards
Who it’s for
Finnish and Swedish companies entering Mexico, already operating here, or deciding whether to. Also Mexican companies looking for Nordic partners, investors, or clients.
Why this is different
I am Finnish-Swedish, KHT-qualified, Ernst & Young trained, and have run businesses in Mexico since 2007. I have navigated this from both sides, in both languages, for nearly two decades.
What I deliver
- Market entry assessment and financial feasibility
- Local regulatory and SAT compliance setup
- Supplier identification and financial vetting
- Ongoing financial oversight for Nordic headquarters
- Cultural and operational translation between markets
- Representation in Swedish, Finnish, or English
Who it’s for
Private equity funds, family offices, entrepreneurs, and strategic buyers evaluating targets in Mexico. Also Mexican owners preparing a company for sale or outside investment.
Methodology
Big 4 due diligence methodology developed across Ernst & Young offices in Finland, the US, the UK, and France — adapted to the Mexican regulatory and accounting environment.
What I deliver
- Quality of earnings, balance sheet, and working capital analysis
- Financial risks, contingent liabilities, and SAT exposure
- IFRS and US GAAP translation of Mexican statements
- Assessment of internal controls and reporting quality
- Advisory support through negotiation and closing
Who it’s for
Companies importing goods into Mexico — established importers looking to cut cost, or businesses navigating the Mexican import market for the first time.
What makes this practical
This is not theoretical. I have run import operations in Mexico directly — suppliers, customs agents, cost structures, compliance. I know where the costs hide and where the risks concentrate.
What I deliver
- Import cost structure and landed cost optimization
- Supplier financial vetting and evaluation
- Customs compliance review and risk identification
- Import process design and documentation
- Regulatory requirements and SAT implications
Two worlds. One advisor.
Operator, not just advisor
I have directed construction, mining, retail, and import operations in Mexico for nearly two decades. I know what a financial decision looks like from inside a business, not only from a spreadsheet.
The Nordic–Mexico bridge
Fluent in Swedish, Finnish, English, and Spanish. Trained in European financial standards. Operating in Mexico since 2007. Very few advisors can genuinely claim both sides of this equation.
Senior expertise, flexible model
KHT-qualified with a Big 4 Ernst & Young background across Finland, the US, the UK, and France. Available fractionally, per project, or on retainer — built around what your business actually needs.
An unusual path — and that is the point
My career took a route most advisors did not take, and that route is the reason I can help you in ways most of them cannot.
I started at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young in Helsinki, where I spent nearly seven years auditing banks, technology companies, manufacturers, and multinationals. I worked on SOX 404 compliance for SEC-registered Silicon Valley technology companies. I helped one of the world’s three largest paper manufacturers build internal controls across four continents, working from offices in Finland, the UK, France, and the United States. I earned my KHT qualification — Finland’s equivalent of a Certified Public Accountant — and built a foundation in IFRS, US GAAP, and Big 4 audit methodology that has stayed with me ever since.
Then I moved to Mexico.
What followed was nearly two decades of learning that financial training and business reality are two very different things — especially in a market as complex and dynamic as Mexico. I have directed construction operations across residential and commercial projects. I have managed mining, retail, and import operations. I have navigated SAT compliance, Mexican banking and regulatory requirements, personnel across multiple companies, and kept a private holding group’s finances in order through economic cycles and currency moves.
That combination — European financial rigor and real Mexican operational experience — is what I bring to every engagement. I have sat on both sides of the table my clients are navigating.
I now divide my time between advisory work and residual interests in my own Mexico-based companies. I am available for fractional, project-based, and retainer engagements, structured around what you actually need.
Outside work, family comes first. Beyond that it’s golf, sailing, and football — preferably in good company. Mexico became home a long time ago, and I wouldn’t change that for anything.
